Men’s Health

Men under the age of 75 are twice as likely as women to die of preventable causes” Australian Mens Health Forum

”70% of men say their friends can rely on them for support, but only 48% say that they rely on their friends. In other words: we’re here for our mates, but worried about asking for help for ourselves. Reaching out is crucial.” Movember

We encourage men to seek help with their medical or emotional concerns and to make it a habit of attending for routine preventative check-ups. Statistics relating to the health of men and their burden of disease are alarming but this doesn’t have to be the case. Your increased risk of cardiovascular disease, many cancers and suicide can be addressed by seeing one of the GPs at Gerringoing Medical Practice. They recognise the barriers to men accessing health care and will provide you with empathetic and practical management of your health problem.

Make it a habit of seeing us at least once a year for a general check-up. Some of our patients see us around their birthday as it’s easy to remember. Think of it like ‘servicing your car’ or taking out ‘income insurance’.
